New Jersey men's soccer team relinquishes two late goals as Penn State Brandywine puts away Knights, 2-1

The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team suffered a tough defeat on Tuesday afternoon, falling to the Nittany Lions of Penn State Brandywine by a score of 2-1. The match took place in La Plume, PA. With the loss, Berkeley dipped to 8-10 on the 2018 season, while Brandywine improved to an impressive mark of 13-2-2.

The two teams played 59 minutes of scoreless soccer before the match started to open up offensively. The Knights took a 1-0 lead at the 59:45 mark when Robins Etienne would score (from Azheen Othman). That advantage would be short-lived for Berkeley, though, as 65 seconds later, the Nittany Lions would tie the match when Mohamed Camara would net an unassisted goal (at 60:50).

Penn State Brandywine took a 2-1 lead when Daniel Willie found the back of the net (from Steve DiSipio) at 80:27. That would turn out to be the game-winning goal, as the Knights were unable to add the equalizer over the final 9:33.

The Nittany Lions out-shot Berkeley by a slim margin of 14-12. The teams were whistled for 17 fouls apiece.

Berkeley College will play its regular season finale on Sunday afternoon, as the Knights will travel to Massachusetts to battle the Falcons of Fisher College. Start time for that contest is scheduled for 2:00pm.
