Men's soccer produces various results in three recent NACIA contests

The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team produced various results over its past three NACIA contests. This past weekend, the Knights played two home games at Hinchliffe Stadium (Paterson, NJ), losing to Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse 3-1, while tying Bryant & Stratton (Rochester), 2-2. Most recently, Berkeley turned back Bloomfield yesterday by a score of 4-1 at Foley Field (Bloomfield, NJ). With those results, the Knights are now 4-1-2 on the 2025 campaign.

In the Knights' loss to Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse, Berkeley's loan goal came from Steven Urbes, an unassisted tally in the 40th minute. That aforementioned tally would be the only goal of the opening session. Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse netted three consecutive goals in the second half, courtesy of Magloire Omwele's pair (50:00, from Sotiris Kostakis and 67:00 from Jessie Kwasi), and a tally from Alvaro Carrera-Aguir.

Berkeley scored 9:30 into the match against Bryant & Stratton (Rochester) to snatch a 1-0 advantage. The visitors tied the match just before halftime when Toby Hewett netted an unassisted tally in the 43rd minute (42:29) to make it 1-1.

In the second half, Callum Judge gave Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse a 2-1 advantage with a goal, but less than 3:30 later, the Knights tied the match when Emmanuel Clement tapped home Hector Castro's beautiful pass to make it 2-2. Neither squad could net a potential go-ahead goal in the final 33:09, as the teams settled for a tie.

Urbes' recent scoring tear continued last night against Bloomfield, as the standout scored an unassisted goal in the 11th minute (10:18) to give Berkeley a 1-0 advantage. Alex Rodrigues boosted the Knights' lead to 2-0 at 18:14 by slashing a ball home on a breakaway.

Exactly two minutes later, the Bears got back in the game when Omar Seoudy slipped a ball into the net to make it a 2-1 match. That would be the final goal scored of the opening session.

In the second half, Berkeley received goals from Matheus Iwamoto (58:13, from Nathan Wills) and Kyler Driggs (70:00, from Castro), and the Knights' defense allowed just one shot, as the Knights dominated the session before eventually advancing for a 4-1 victory.

Jack Giannini got the victory for Berkeley in net, logging 77:42 of action and allowing one goal while stopping two shots.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, as Berkeley will take to the road to battle Bryant & Stratton-Cleveland at the Beaumont School. Start-time for the NACIA clash is scheduled for 5:00pm.
