The Berkeley College women's basketball team put forth a 4-2 record in recent contests, as the Knights picked up victories against Penn State Shenango (56-51 on December 1), Penn State New Kensington (79-35 on December 2), Penn State Du Bois (71-67 on December 9), and Tidewater Community College (65-38 on December 13), while suffering losses to Penn State Hazleton (53-50 on December 8) and Apprentice (68-56 on December 14). With that aforementioned output, the Knights are now 5-6 on the 2025-2026 campaign.
December 1, 2025: Berkeley 56, Penn State Shenango 51
In the Knights' victory over Penn State Shenango, Aliyah Carroll led the way with a game-high 21 points (9-14 FG). She also tied for the game-high of nine rebounds, while leading all players in steals with four, and blocked shots with two. Ariella Johnson added 11 points and four rebounds, and Davian Myers finalized her evening with seven points and three steals.
Despite the loss for Penn State Shenango, the Nittany Lions were paced by Gabrielle King, as she scored a team-best 18 points (7-10 FG) while snatching eight rebounds. Kayla Owen recorded 11 points while collecting six boards and dishing two assists, and Samair Colon scored eight points, dished a game-high six assists, snatched four boards, and swiped three steals.
The Knights trailed 10-2 in the first quarter, but battled back and eventually took the lead in the second quarter (17-15) on Myers' jumper with 5:37 left in the half. The teams then exchanged the lead four times before heading into the locker room at halftime tied at 24-all.
After a low-scoring third quarter that saw Penn State Shenango outscore Berkeley 10-7, the teams combined for 42 fourth quarter points. The Knights trailed 42-41 with 4:07 to play before finishing the game on a 14-10 run to capture a hard-fought win.
Both teams struggled mightily shooting the basketball, as the Knights earned a conversion rate of just 32.4 percent from the floor (22-68), while the hosts connected on just 19 out of 60 shots (31.7 percent). The Nittany Lions held a slim 38-37 edge on the glass, and a 17-9 advantage in assists. Berkeley held a 19-10 edge in steals, while also swatting three shots to Penn State Shenango's one. The Knights won the turnover battle, committing 25 miscues, while the opposition had 36.
December 2, 2025: Berkeley 79, Penn State New Kensington 35
In the Knights' triumph over Penn State New Kensington, Carroll posted a double-double, tying for the team-high of 13 points while leading all players with 12 rebounds. Nyeira Spady connected on six of her seven attempts from the floor, tying Carroll with 13 points. Her five assists and three steals were both game-highs, and she also added three boards. Myers finalized her evening with 12 points and four assists, and Ariella Johnson added 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Despite the loss for Penn State New Kensington, the Nittany Lions were led by Jayde Rivera, as she scored a game-high 16 points (5-6 FT) while snatching five rebounds and dishing two assists. Additionally, Tori Johnson hit a pair of three-pointers, finalizing her night with nine points.
December 8, 2025: Penn State Hazleton 53, Berkeley 50
Despite Berkeley College's loss to Penn State Hazleton, the Knights were paced by Ariella Johnson, as she contributed a team-high 14 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals. Spady added 10 points and a team-best eight boards, and Carroll contributed seven points, four rebounds, and two steals.
In the victory for the Nittany Lions, Topaz Williams-Fripp finalized her night with a game-high 18 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. Aliya Tikhtova posted a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, and Tamia Bruce registered 10 points while snatching four rebounds and dishing three assists.
Trailing 7-5 with 2:03 remaining in the first quarter, Berkeley finished the period with a 6-0 run (courtesy of three-point baskets by Ariella Johnson and Wy-Asia Montgomery to snatch an 11-7 advantage after 10 minutes of play.
The hosts stormed back in the second quarter, outscoring the Knights 13-5 in the period to take a 20-16 lead at the half. Bruce led the charge for the Nittany Lions during that aforementioned run, as she scored six points.
In the third quarter, the teams exchanged the lead four times before the final pendulum swing came on Frip-Williams' three-point conversion with 5:38 remaining in the period that gave the hosts a 27-25 advantage. Penn State Hazleton would eventually take a 34-29 lead into the final period.
The Nittany Lions went up by as many as seven points in the fourth (38-31), but Berkeley would rattle off seven consecutive points (courtesy of four points by Spady, and three points by Ariella Johnson) to deadlock the contest at 38. After some back-and-forth play, the hosts would eventually take a 51-45 advantage with 2:06 to go, but five straight Knights points pulled Berkeley to within one (51-50) with 65 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, the Knights would shoot 0-for-2 in the final minute of play, as Penn State Hazleton went on to win the game by three, 53-50.
Penn State Hazleton was far more efficient shooting the basketball, converting on 41.1 percent of their shots from the floor (23-56), while Berkeley earned a conversion rate of just 24.7 percent (18-73). Each squad snatched 45 rebounds, and Penn State Hazleton held a commanding 14-3 edge in assists. Berkeley held a 16-8 advantage in steals and a 2-0 edge in blocked shots, and the Knights won the turnover battle, committing 20 miscues, while the hosts finished with 28.
December 9, 2025: Berkeley 71, Penn State Du Bois 67
In the Knights' triumph over Penn State DuBois, Ariella Johnson and Arianna Wilder tied for the team-high of 18 points. Ariella Johnson's six steals led all players, and she also added three rebounds and a pair of assists. Wilder, in addition to her 18, finalized her night with four assists, two boards, and a pair of steals. Myers finished with eight points, and Carroll (seven points, team-high nine rebounds, three steals) and Spady (seven points, six rebounds, four steals, team-high three blocks) also played pivotal roles in the team's win.
Despite the loss for Penn State Du Bois, Shannon Shaw connected on seven triples, finishing with a game-high 23 points. She also collected five boards and added a pair of dimes. Eden Wonderling contributed 20 points, four steals, and three rebounds, and Elizabeth Hungiville posted a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Finally, Natalie Bowser's 14 rebounds led all players.
Berkeley College won the game despite shooting just 31 percent from the floor (22-71), however, the team was excellent from the free throw line, draining 22 out of 28 shots from the stripe (78.6 percent). On the flip side, the Nittany Lions finalized their evening with a 45.5 percent conversion rate (25-55), and also draining 10 out of 16 shots from the line (62.5 percent). Penn State Du Bois held a modest 41-38 edge on the glass, while also dishing 20 assists to Berkeley's 12. The Knights did hold a 24-15 advantage in steals, and the teams blocked five shots apiece. Berkeley won the turnover battle, committing 24 miscues, while the hosts had 38.
December 13, 2025: Berkeley 65, Tidewater C.C., 38
In Berkeley College's victory over the Stormbirds, Wilder put forth a strong performance, netting a game-high 17 points while collecting three rebounds and swiping a pair of steals. Carroll posted a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. She also added two steals on the night. Spady recorded 14 points while pulling down seven rebounds, and Anastastia Davis scored nine points and grabbed six boards in 23 minutes off the bench.
Despite the loss for Tidewater Community College, the Stormbirds were paced by Reanna Keaton, as she scored a team-best 11 points while collecting four rebounds and swiping a team-best three steals. Aaliyah Price finished with six points and nine rebounds, and Madeline Fisher netted six points while snatching four rebounds.
Berkeley held a 15-11 advantage with 3:13 remaining in the first quarter, before putting together a 13-0 run over a span of 5:42 to boost its advantage to 17 points, 28-11. The Knights' 34-15 advantage at the half was the team's largest advantage at that juncture of the contest.
In the second session, Berkeley outscored the Stormbirds 13-11 in the third quarter, before going up by as many as 30 points on multiple occasions in the fourth, before eventually capturing the contest by 27.
Both teams struggled mightily shooting the basketball, as the Knights earned a conversion rate of just 33.8 percent from the floor (27-80), while the Stormbirds connected on just 13 out of 59 shots (22 percent). The Knights held a 57-46 edge on the glass, and a commanding 21-9 advantage in assists. Berkeley also dished seven assists to Tidewater's four, and the Knights won the turnover battle, committing 23 miscues, while the Stormbirds finished with 35.
December 14, 2025: Apprentice 68, Berkeley 56
Despite Berkeley College's loss to Apprentice, the Knights were paced by Wilder, as she contributed a game-high 21 points to go along with three rebounds and two steals. Carroll added 12 points, a team-best six boards, three steals, and two assists, and Ariella Johnson contributed 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
In the victory for the Builders, Ronnice Berry connected on three triples, on her way to finishing with a team-high 19 points. She also added six rebounds while tying for the game-high of five steals and tying for the team-high of four assists. Amariona Collins-Epps contributed 16 points, five steals, and four rebounds, and Cornasia Lamberson finalized her evening with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
After the teams were deadlocked at 10 apiece after the first quarter, the Knights saw their offense step up in the second quarter, as Berkeley shot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the period to take a 29-24 edge into the break.
The Builders outscored the Knights 17-13 in the third quarter to pull to within a point after 30 minutes to play, before hitting 11-of-20 shots in the fourth quarter and forcing five Knight turnovers in the fourth to earn the win.
Apprentice was the more efficient shooting the basketball, converting on 43.9 percent of their shots from the floor (25-57), while Berkeley earned a conversion rate of just 37.3 percent (22-59). Berkeley held a slim 37-36 edge on the glass, but the Builders held advantages in assists (15-7) and steals (22-15). The teams swatted three shots apiece, and the Builders won the turnover battle by a small margin, committing 29 miscues, while the visitors had 31.

Berkeley will return to action on Thursday evening, as the Knights will play their home opener against NACIA foe Bloomfield. The game will take place at Achievement First Brooklyn High School, with a start-time of 6:00pm.
