On Tuesday morning, the Berkeley College Department of Athletics announced its 2014 soccer schedules for its men's and women's teams on the New York side, as well as the slate for the New Jersey men's soccer team. All three teams come into their new campaigns with confidence and championship aspirations.
The Berkeley College (NY) Men's Soccer team - which has won two Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles in the past four seasons (2010 and 2012) and was a semifinalist in the USCAA National Men's Soccer Tournament in 2013 - will enter the 2014 season looking to take that next step forward. The Knights will play a 16 game schedule - including 10 matches at home.
Berkeley will kick-off its season on Friday evening, August 29 against FDU Florham at Aviator Field before taking to the road to battle King's College in a HVIAC contest on September 3. The Knights then play back-to-back home Saturday contests against SUNY ESF (September 6) and Central Penn (September 13) before embarking on a four-game road trip that sees Berkeley travel to Webb Institute (HVIAC match - September 17), Davis College (September 18), USMMA (September 24), and Albany College of Pharmacy (HVIAC match - September 27).
From there, the Knights seven of their final eight matches at home (including three HVIAC contests). Some of Berkeley's notable non-HVIAC matches include a road game on October 6 against the Beavers of the City College of New York - a team that qualified for the finals of its conference tournament a season ago. Additionally, the Knights will battle Baruch on October 15 at Aviator Field.

Every game will be important for the Berkeley College's Women's Soccer team - as the Knights will play a seven match schedule in 2014.
Berkeley begins its season with a home game against SUNY ESF on September 6 at Aviator Field. The team will then open up its HVIAC portion of the schedule with a home match against King's College on September 19, also at Aviator Field. The Knights close out September with a HVIAC battle against Albany College of Pharmacy on September 27.
When the calendar flips to October, the Knights will play their first contest of the new month against Briarcliffe at Aviator on October 2. Berkeley then hosts York College six days later on October 8. The team finalizes its campaign with a road HVIAC contest at Yeshiva University on Monday, October 20 followed by a home conference tilt against St. Joseph's Brooklyn on October 23.

The Berkeley College (NJ) Men's Soccer squad will face plenty of stiff tests in 2014, but the team's biggest obstacle could be its vigorous road schedule, as the Knights will play 12 of their scheduled 17 contests away from home.
The Knights open up their season the weekend of August 30-31, as Berkeley will participate in the Swarthmore Tournament. On Saturday, August 30, the Knights will take on Widener, and on the following day - August 31 - Berkeley will battle Swarthmore. Berkeley's home opener will take place on Wednesday, September 3, when the Knights will play host to Lancaster Bible at NJIT.
Following Berkeley's home opener, the Knights will play six consecutive games away from home. Of that six game road trip, Berkeley will participate in two pairs of back-to-backs, as the Knights will battle Bryn Athyn on September 7 before traveling to Briarcliffe for a game on September 8. Then, the Knights will take on the University of Maine Fort Kent on Saturday, September 13 before clashing with Maine Presque Isle on September 14. Berkeley closes out the road trip with two consecutive Saturday contests - a September 20 battle with Penn State York and a September 27 meeting with DeSales. Following that, Berkeley will close out September with a home match against Vaughn College on September 29.
The month of October will see Berkeley play four games apiece at home and on the road, with the Knights hosting Penn State Wilkes-Barre (October 2), Washington Adventist (October 12), Central Penn (October 16), and Briarcliffe (October 18) while traveling to Valley Forge Christian College (October 3), Penn State Brandywine (October 8), York College, NY (October 14), and Cabrini (October 22).
